While everybody may like water, it can quickly become boring to the palate. I know I have posted about the importance of staying hydrated before, but lately I have been getting bored with water and I am I finding that I am not staying nearly as hydrated as I need too. Hopefully someone else is experiencing this so I’m not just preaching to the choir. Benefits of staying hydrated are infinite, it helps in hormone distribution, flushes toxins from your body, makes you feel more energetic, increases your metabolic systems, and improves the look of your skin. If you have found yourself tired of consuming water, here are some healthy alternatives that you might want to give a try.
Coconut water – although it can get expensive, coconut water is a great way to naturally stay hydrated, and personally I think it is delicious.
Teas – No, not brisk teas or lipton bottled green teas, those both contain a large amount of sugar, and contain some artificial flavorings. I am talking about tea you brew at home. You can have it hot or cold, and many of them offer great health benefits when consumed regularly.
Fruit/Veggie Water – a low cost way to spice up your water a little bit is to add fresh or frozen fruits and even some vegetables to it. A good place to start is to mash up some frozen berries and add it to your water bottle, or even make a bigger batch by blending frozen berries and water together. Another simple water mix to try is cucumber and lime. Put a few slices of cucumber into a pitcher of water and refrigerate over night, and add lime to your taste preference when you consume it.
